TCL retrofitted the control systems on the two RB211 powered compressor drives on the 17Alpha platform in the Leman Bank field in the southern sector of the North Sea. Each unit consists of a gas fuelled RB211-24C gas generator with Cooper RT-58C power turbine each driving two Delaval Stork compressors in series. Each compressor has an individual re-cycle valve. The retrofit has been a success with both units operating reliably providing automated run up and process control. TCL has provided support for these systems with further performance upgrades. All work to date has been performed to Perenco’s exacting standards with TCL being able to provide the required support at all levels.

We would like to thank you and your staff at Turbine Controls Ltd for the successful completion of the Control System replacement projects on our Curtiss Wright MOD POD Olympus gas turbine machines at Athlone and Roggebaai Power Stations. The new systems have eliminated start unreliability. We have had no recorded start failures to date. Fault finding and diagnostic features and online support have reduced down time to a minimum.
