TCL are now able to offer an
inspection and repair service for a wide range of industrial and
aero-derivative gas turbines. This complements the inspection services
that TCL have provided for some years.
to many of the aero-derivative engines have been carried out off-site
at the overhaul company’s workshop. The reality is that many repairs
can be carried out on site without the need for transporting the engine
to a remote facility. This can result in a significant savings on the
cost of the repair and the length of the plant outage.
The repairs are carried
out under strictly controlled conditions in line with pre-developed
procedures and include full NDT inspections and performance testing.
TCL have continued to secure
projects for control system upgrades and enhancements throughout the

- RR Avon fuel system
replacement for emergency generators operated by Fingrid, Finland.
- Control system upgrade and gas generator repairs for AngloGold
Ashanti on a 10MW gas turbine generator, supplying emergency power for
their gold mine near Fochville RSA (the deepest mine in the world).
- RR Olympus liquid fuel changeover packages for operation on diesel
fuel and bio-fuel.
