TCL's portfolio of gas
turbine experience has been increased recently following the award of
two contracts: -
TCL has been awarded a contract for the supply of spare parts and
maintenance services by an operator of KG2-3 gas turbines in the United
BBC Type 9.
TCL have recently completed the installation and commissioning of a
control system upgrade for a BBC Type 9 gas turbine in Saudi Arabia.
The control system consisted of an Allen Bradley Control Logix 5000 PLC
with ABB Unitrol AVR and automatic synchroniser.
TCL are pleased to announce
the award of the following contracts during the last quarter of 2011: -
Rugeley Power Station: - Control system upgrade of two RR Avon
based EA2 gas turbines with ControlLogix5000 PLC based controls and
Allen Bradley CGCM automatic voltage regulators.
CEC, Bancroft, Zambia:
- Control system upgrade of the two RR Avon based gas turbines with
ControlLogix5000 PLC based controls interfacing with a TCL Posiflow
fuel system. In addition the scope includes an Allen Bradley CGCM
automatic voltage regulator.
E-On Citigen, London:
- Control system upgrade of a Wartsila diesel/gas engine, replacing the
existing governor and safety PLC with an Allen Bradley ControlLogix
5000 based system.
During the past few months a
number of control system upgrades have been installed and handed over
to the customer. These have included:-
Four Posiflow liquid fuel systems for two GEC EA2 gas turbine
generators were supplied to Fingrid. The systems were installed and
commissioned in two stages to fit in with other site work. The systems
underwent extensive proving runs to ensure compliance with the relevant
grid stadards and were handed over in Dec 2011.
Savuka mine, South
Africa. The scope of supply included new control panels and a
Posiflow liquid fuel system for a RR Avon based generator. The system
was based on the Allen Bradley ControlLogix5000 PLC with a CGCM
automatic voltage regulator and synchroniser.
The equipment was
successfully installed and commissioned in Dec 2011. The site tests
included island load modes in which the system was subjected to the
unusual load profiles associated with mine winding equipment.
